With humble pranaams at Bhagawan’s lotus feet, we are happy to share this week’s updates with our NDSai BalVikas families. We appreciate everyone’s support in helping make this weekend smooth and successful.

Friday, May 8 — final mandatory rehearsal

Evening schedule

• Teachers and volunteers: arrive by 6:00 pm.
• Students: arrive by 6:15 pm.
• Run-through begins at 6:30 pm — full practice, no costumes.
• Saints of India will follow Vedam.

Important reminders

• All lines must be fully memorised.
• Attendance is mandatory for all groups.
• Absences must be communicated to your segment teacher.
• Bring a book for downtime.
• Eat early — no food inside the temple.
• No practice on Saturday.

Sunday, May 10 — Easwaramma Day

Frisco High School

Timing

• Event time: 3:00 pm.
• Participant report time: 1:30 pm.
• Venue access: 12:00–7:00 pm for props and lobby teams.

General guidelines

• Non-participants must attend with one parent.
• Snack bags will be distributed after Arathi, in the exit area.
• No eating inside the auditorium.

Costumes and preparation

• Arrive in full costume.
• Bring all accessories: hairpins, safety pins, jewellery, makeup.
• Carry a change of Love All Serve All T-shirt and jeans.

After the performance

• Change into jeans and the Bal Vikas T-shirt.
• Segment leads will manage transitions and regrouping.

Support and assistance

• Alumni support: Veda, Aashana, Richa, Amrutha and Sanjana will assist with transitions and escort students back to the auditorium.
• Group 1 parent help is needed for costume changes.
• Narrators: festive attire, changing after narration.
• Performers with multiple roles: please ensure smooth transitions.

Costume return

• Sunday, May 17 at AMH — time slots to follow.
• Parents are responsible for lost or damaged items.

2026–2027 registration

Registration is closed and no new entries are being taken. Updates will be shared by email.

You need not take up any service activity beyond your means and capacity. Thirdly, if you find your neighbours suffering, give them solace. Try to help and make them happy.

Why do we celebrate Easwaramma Day?

May 6th every year is celebrated as Easwaramma Day, commemorating the anniversary of the passing away of the saintly lady who was blessed to be mother to the Avatar of the Kali age. Bhagawan exhorts His devotees, especially children, to revere the mother as God. Hence, this day is a celebration of the sacred ideal of motherhood.

Easwaramma was very fond of children and was one of the pioneers of the Bal Vikas movement. Hence, this day is also celebrated as Bal Vikas Day, when hundreds of Bal Vikas children gather in Bhagawan’s presence to present before Him their cultural programmes and imbibe the highest spiritual lessons from their Divine Mother.See photographs from the 2026 celebration.

Additional seva opportunities

• Our Narayan seva at the Austin Street shelter in Dallas, every first Friday of a month.
• On the first Saturday of every month from 10 am, the Shirdi Baba temple in Plano organises a Cleaning Seva. The temple has been home for our unit presentations. Children are encouraged to participate as an expression of gratitude.
• Breakfast Seva, serving healthy and nutritious breakfast to the homeless in Dallas every day, led by one of our own teachers.
• Volunteers can also collect our white sheets once every other month and return them washed. Parking volunteers could also use your help.
